Theis Family

Welcome to the Theis family! My wife Pastor Rachael and I met and fell in love in 2004 at our home church in Grandville, Michigan. That summer, while on vacation at my parent's cabin near Pentwater, we were kayaking in Lake Michigan, and both agreed that “one day, we’ll pastor a church here in Ludington.” We married on April 16th, 2005, and started our lives in Kalamazoo, Michigan, at Radiant Church. The years following brought us three beautiful and distinctly different children; Christina, Micah, and Hannah. Like every family starting out, we had to learn how to be husband and wife, raise our kids, grow a career, and mature as believers.

Since an early age, Pastor Rachael and I have always valued, served, and given to the churches we were a part of. Over the years of deep work and involvement, we’ve learned and changed a lot through the high moments and low valleys of ministry life. As a family, we’ve been jokingly accused of being loud and a bit crazy. While we’re not your “typical” pastoral family, we love each other deeply, passionately pursue the Lord, and cherish our times together. You’ll often hear me refer to us as “Team Theis.”

God’s hand of favor and blessing has faithfully been on us through the trials of life. In December 2013, we took on the biggest challenge of our life to date, becoming the leaders of Radiant Church in Ludington. Who knew that nearly ten years after our kayaking date, we’d finally be in the town God placed a burden on our hearts for? This community is where we are called to dig our roots down deep. We live here now with our two dogs, Zoey and Chloe, and love our quiet neighborhood, walks at the State Park, picking blueberries, and swimming in Lake Michigan in the summer.
